My dear friend, Sky, had a craving for crabs on that day. He dragged the gang down to Seafood Station. He had spotted some irresistible offer on crabs there - like when you choose one of their crab dishes, you get the 2nd crab dish at half price.
He obviously did not read many of the fine prints on the promotion. Let’s say that after the waiter had explained the promotion to us, it did not appear as attractive as before.

The appetisers there were unique. They were either preserved topshell or cockles which we quite enjoyed. This was obviously before the release of the reports on how our government was clamping down on illegal shucking of cockles. Along with the report, our local newspaper had proceeded to display rather graphic images of how the illegal operators had prepared the cockles on toilet floors. I felt the release of these images was rather unfair to the legal cockle distributors. Clampdown or no clampdown, I would be swearing off cockles for a while.

The Mee Goreng was rather nice. Fiery, rich and containing a fair bit of seafood. It bode well.

The Pepper Crab looked impressive. Taste wise it was competent but was a few notches below the famous Crab place at Still Road.

The Chili Crab similarly looked tantalising. Again, it was quite good. But a high benchmark had been set by the stall at Still Road.
