Acacia Restaurant

-->

Address: 1380 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, Bishan Park

This Italian restaurant is located next to a carpark at Bishan Park. Considering that my gf and I used to come here to pak tor (hokkien for date…although I feel that the hokkien version does carry some element of sleaziness when interpreting the meaning), we have never considered eating here…until now.

The place is just a hut situated in a clearing with quite a lot of foliage around. Nice setting.

On that day, my gf and I had a tiff over why each other was carrying such a sour-puss face before dinner. Basically, I had a grouchy face but was not actually feeling grouchy. She thought I was grouchy and became grouchy. I was wondering why she was grouchy and thus I actually turned grouchy. Now that she was convinced I was grouchy, she was vindicated in being grouchy.. You get the picture. Ah..the complexities of love. Anyway, our little tiff was cleared up through the course of dinner.

Has anyone else noticed that quite a number of restaurants are employing staff from China? Our waitress, who looked like she was from China, had some difficulty in taking our orders. I think it might be due to the complicated twisting of tongue needed to pronounce Italian food item names. I can’t blame her as I myself am used to just pointing at items when the restaurant employs elaborate Italian terms for their menu.

Our Capellini Seafood (S$15.80) was not bad. It had a good serving of seafood ingredients and a hint of spiciness in the sauce.

The Lamp Chop (S$19.90) was reasonably priced and didn’t taste all that bad either.

Thus ended another blissful pak tor session with my gf.
