Introduced by a colleague at work. This place serves fabulous claypot. I have always maintained that the best food in Singapore is at Geylang, in the heart of the red light district.
For the Claypot, you need to order in advance. This is because they take about 1~2 hours to prepare the dish. Just inform Ah Tian (feels like I am pimping…heh heh..kidding…) and tell him the number of people that will be having claypot.
And if you guys are interested, check out his website. This claypot restaurant is going the digital age man. His website is not web 2.0 yet though….give him time.

A waitress would help us mix in the dark soy sauce and stir the rich. With her practised strokes, the rice soon turns rich dark black colour. For a table of 4 famished guys (I need to add that the 4 present were all big eaters), the claypot was finished in a manner of minutes.
Our side dishes were Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs and Vegetables cooked in light soy sauce with lard. Mmmmmm…lard. The crispy fried bits of fatty pork elevated the vegetable dish to a new level. We were picking at the lard bits without care or concern at the abuse our arteries will no doubt encounter in the future because of our indiscretion. Sigh…Geylang is truely a place of sin.

The best was yet to come though. The colleague termed the Fried Soft Shell Crab here as the best in Singapore. I would tend to agree with him. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Savoury and best to go with a beer.

The meal came up to $60 for 4 people. Just tell them Ah Tan sent you (however, this is unlikely to illicit any response or benefit from them on the account that they do not know me at all..).
