The ultimate comfort food - Scissors Curry Rice. Located at the heart of Jalan Besar. It is not a place for first dates or romantic encounters of any kind. People come here to satisfy their need for food…to rid themselves of hunger in the most utilitarian manner.

Open till 330am, it is definitely a haunt for late night revelers, taxi drivers and anyone looking for a good meal.

And the reason why the place is called Scissors Curry Rice is because the proprietor primarily uses a pair of scissors as his main tool in placing the ingredients chosen and cutting them up into bite sized pieces for easy consumption.

The end result is this mess of rice, curry chicken wings, braised soy sauce beef, curry vegetable and a fried egg drenched with rich curry gravy and braised soy pork sauce. I would rate this as one of the most unappertising looking conconction ever conceived by a hawker…but the taste is another matter altogether. Simple yet superb. And cheap to boot (only S$4)!

Highly recommended. Must try.
