This place had been opened for some time and had created quite a buzz then. I had never felt inclined to dine there before this because some of my friends who had already done so had not been impressed.

However, my colleagues and I decided to pamper ourselves with a nice, leisurely lunch on this particular day and decided on the lunch special (S$28+++) at this place.
As it was a weekday, the place was fairly empty. The service was impeccable and the waiter friendly and very likeable.

First, we were each served with a rolled-up papadum. It went very well with the spicy and sweet wild-berry dip. I ate up my papadum before I remembered to take pictures, so here’s a picture of the dips/chutneys instead.

The next dish was a vegetarian soup. I think it was leek (since it was green, creamy and not at all fibrous). The soup was thick and savoury. I finished up every drop of my soup before I remembered to take pictures, so you will have to use your imagination instead. Just imagine a white shallow bowl of green, creamy and piping hot soup.

The main dish came arranged prettily on an artist’s palette. This consisted of briyani, tandoori chicken, fish curry, mutton and strawberry lassi. We were also served a whole basketful of soft, warm naan. All of these dishes were delicious. In particular, the tandoori chicken was nicely marinated and grilled. I also particularly liked the fish curry, which was aromatic and mildly spicy and tasted a little like Thai green curry. These dishes were free flow and I had multiple servings of the chicken, the fish curry and the strawberry lassi.

The satisfying meal was capped off by the dessert. This was a heavenly chocolate cake, which had bits of crunchy almond in it.

Needless to say, the lunch was the highlight of a boring work day.
